GW Awarded a Sloan Foundation Grant to Launch Open Source Program Office

GW has been awarded a two-year, $685,652 grant from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation to establish an Open Source Program Office! Professor Lorena Barba will serve as the Faculty Advisor.

GW Rocket Team Successfully Launches Dual-Stage Rocket at 2023 Spaceport America Cup

GW Rocket Team built a 6-inch diameter, 18-foot dual-stage rocket and competed at the 2023 Spaceport America Cup, where they were the only team whose 2nd stage ignited as expected.

Uncovering the Science Behind Ultrasound Imaging and Targeted Drug Delivery

Professor Kausik Sarkar has been awarded a new collaborative grant by the NSF Division of Materials Research to uncover the underlying science of both ultrasound imaging and targeted drug delivery.

The Department of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering) offers an ABET-accredited Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering. Students majoring in mechanical engineering may also elect to study one of the several options offered by the department in: aerospace engineering, robotics, patent law, biomechanical engineering, or medical preparation.
