Faculty and students in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering conduct research that aims to: control adult stem cell differentiation to treat human diseases, develop autonomous mobile robots that can be used in search and rescue and other high-risk missions, enhance nuclear reactor safety, develop a plasma scalpel that can minimize the need for blood transfusions during surgery, and more.
