GW's Engineers Without Borders Chapter plans to travel to Yumbe, Uganda in December to build upon an existing library and implement a community learning center their team designed to meet community needs and boost school retention rates.

The Department of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering) offers an ABET-accredited Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering. Students majoring in mechanical engineering may also elect to study one of the several options offered by the department in: aerospace engineering, robotics, patent law, biomechanical engineering, or medical preparation.
