In the article "Office of the Vice Provost for Research Transitions Leadership," GW Today reported that Pamela M. Norris, the current vice provost for research, is stepping down to be succeeded by Robert H. Miller from GW's School of Medicine and Health Sciences, who will serve as the interim vice provost. Norris will continue teaching at GW Engineering as a faculty member in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and championing diversity within science and engineering while thoughtfully addressing the obstacles confronting U.S. science in the global STEM arena.

Here is an excerpt from the article: "During her tenure, Norris launched a number of initiatives to support faculty scholarship including a robust new faculty orientation program, popular multi-day faculty writing retreats and expanded grant development resources. She emphasized enhancing the external recognition of GW scholarship, brought the popular radio show Science Friday to GW’s campus and sponsored a highly visible presence at the nation’s largest multidisciplinary scientific association (AAAS). Norris provided critical support for the early development of the Institute for Trustworthy AI in Law & Society (TRAILS), the university-wide Trustworthy AI Initiative and multiple federally sponsored programs that aim to diversify the STEM workforce."
