Dr. Leftwich wins 3-year, $515K Young Investigator Program Grant

Dr. Megan Leftwich has won a three-year, $515,000 Young Investigator Program grant from the Office of Naval Research for her project “Sea Lion Swimming: A Model for Efficient, Hydrodynamically Quiet Propulsion.”  The project aims to determine a mechanism for high-performance aquatic propulsion that leaves minimal hydrodynamic signal, while remaining energetically efficient.
