On March 21, professor Kausik Sarkar was inducted as a Fellow of The American Society of Mechanical Engineers. His citation reads: "Professor Sarkar has made fundamental contributions to flows with bubbles and droplets, over the last twenty years. His creative analysis includes studies of the effects of viscoelasticity, emulsion rheology, normal stress differences, wall-induced migration, and modeling of encapsulated contrast microbubbles for ultrasound imaging. His results have led to fundamental new understanding and help define the current state of the art. Professor Sarkar is an active member of his professional community, and has served ASME in a number of ways, most recently as an associate editor of the Journal of Fluids Engineering."
