Dr. Saniya LeBlanc has received a four-year, $659,568 Office of Naval Research grant for the project “Energy Carrier Transport in Advanced Structural Materials for Thermal Management.” Dr. LeBlanc is the sole PI on the award from the Hypersonic Aerothermodynamics, High-Speed Propulsion and Materials program.
The award will fund a project to investigate the formation of multi-scale interfaces in multifunctional materials with power generation and thermal management capabilities. The grant includes funds for an electron backscatter diffraction detector that will be installed on a scanning electron microscope in the GW Nanofabrication and Imaging Center, a facility shared across multiple GW schools.
